You’ve most likely come across a YKK Zipper on at least one of your clothes if not all.
YKK (far too long to print on a zipper) stands for Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikikaisha. A Japanese company that manufactures almost half the zippers on earth – more than 7 billion a year.
Founded by Tadao Yoshida in Tokyo in 1934, the young Yoshida was a tinkerer who designed his own customized zipper machines when he wasn’t satisfied with existing production methods.
Cashmere is a wool fibre obtained from the undercoat of cashmere goats that are bred to generate wool.
Cashmere is rare and expensive because it is obtained once every year when the goats shed.
Unfortunately, there are loads of fake cashmere products in the Nigerian market or some that are not 100% pure.
Consider this post a quick guide to detecting real from fake.
Shirting Fabric is a broad term used to refer to a variety of fabrics, where the fabric is generally tightly woven and less sheer, making them an ideal shirt/top weight.
These fabrics are breathable, durable, pleasant to the touch, and comfortable to wear all year round. That is why high thread count and yarn dyed structure are the essential features of shirting fabrics.
Plan Your Wardrobe For The Week
Plan your wardrobe for the week… ..Or at least have a rough idea how you’d like to look based on what’s available. It’ll save you loads of “decision making” time during the week.
Time that can be dedicated to other productive tasks.

The menswear business has exposed me to technicalities of clothing and how they are made. I used to have shirts I really liked that didn’t fit properly around the waist. Usually, I’d find that the neck, shoulders and sleeves were okay but the cut was just a bit too full from the chest southwards.
In comparison to a suit, there isn’t as much to say about identifying a quality shirt, however, you should be as discriminating about the construction of a shirt as you are of a suit. You’ll find below a couple of things that you should look out for – things that don’t make much of a difference to quality and those that do make a difference to the quality of a shirt. Let’s start with the insignificant stuff.
1. Tie your favorite tie knot, stopping just short of tightening it around your neck.
2. Pinch the sides of the tie just below the knot and make a dimple in the center.
3. Pull your tie tight while holding the dimple in place. If necessary, reset the dimple while you adjust the tie’s final position.
And voila! You’ve got yourself a dimple. 👔
You got a WHAT? A pedicure?
It can be a sensitive topic for men. Only 10 years ago, in 2010, I remember the silence that fell on the room when I suggested to male friends we get a pedicure. It would have been my first time. Chances of a deafening silent re-occurrence today is not as high but I can’t be so sure.
When you’re out or in having dinner with family, friends, colleagues and acquittances, it’s imperative you are at least aware of the rules of dining. Each item laid out on the table has it’s purpose. Know them! This is a quick guide.
Essentially, the technique is doing all the steps of wearing a tie, without the tie.
You have to be careful about what shirt you use or you could come off looking dorky.
Not a rule but the air-tie look works best with a semi-spread collar under a jacket.
Well, it’s more like 9+ items if you consider the belts, socks and underwear but that would be stretching it.
There’s a good reason why you can have a wardrobe full of clothes and still not know what to wear. It’s like going to a restaurant with a massive menu.
“More clothes doesn’t necessarily equate to better style.”
You’re spoilt for choice so it’ll usually take you longer to decide, unless you know what you want, or you have a plan like the image above.
